Dedicated to solving the industry pain points of real-time data analysis, Flywheel Tech will continue to build the Apache Doris (incubating) open-source community with a wide range of developers.
Cloud-native real-time database supplier Flywheel Digits (Chinese:飞轮科技) has completed over CNY 300 million (USD 45.4 million) angel and angel+ rounds of funding from IDG Capital and Sequoia Capital China.
As an open-source technology company, the startup will work on Apache Doris (Incubating), a real-time OLAP (on-Line Analytic Processing) database developed and open-sourced by Chinese people, and work with developers in the open-source community to enhance its international reach.
Flywheel Digits was founded in December 2021 by Lian Linjiang, former general manager of Baidu Smart Cloud Big Data and Video Cloud. The core team members, including CTO and vice presidents responsible for technology and products, come from top internet and cloud computing companies such as Baidu, Tencent, Qianxin Tech, Alibaba Group, Amazon, Byte Dance, Ant Financial, and Kuaishou, with rich industry experience and customer resources.
In terms of products, Flywheel Digits will also develop a real-time cloud database “SelectDB” (a Doris-based distribution). The product is cost-effective, visual, easy to use and has a wide range of applications. It can provide users with out-of-the-box services to help customers solve data processing and operation challenges caused by heavy architecture.
In terms of marketing, Flywheel Digits said it will cooperate with cloud vendors, independent software vendors and system integrators to meet the diversified and differentiated needs of customers and achieve a win-win situation. In addition, Flywheel Digits said it has also established contact with customers in internet, automotive, finance, telecom, retail, transportation and logistics, energy, medical, industrial manufacturing and other industries.
The competitors of Flywheel Digits include Syour Tech (Chinese:数渊科技), Matrix (Chinese:北京四维纵横) and Singularity (Chinese:奇点无限).
