Chinese auto software developer Greenstone (in Chinese: 华玉通软) bagged hundreds of millions of CNY in the Series A1 funding round from BlueRun Ventures China solely.

The funds will be used to develop smart driving technology, hire talents and accelerate solution landing and production.

Founded in 2020, Greenstone focuses on designing operating systems and middleware, a type of software that connects various applications with the operating system, for intelligent driving solutions.

Blue Run Ventures China said, ''The automotive industry is rapidly evolving towards the direction of intelligence, connection, electrification and sharing. In order to realize the "software-defined vehicle," the automotive software under the new electrical/electronic architecture needs to adopt more advanced middleware platforms. ''

''Greenstone's middleware products, especially those based on the Data Distribution Service (DDS) protocol are accepted by OEMs and partners and have gone to volume production. The firm has a solid understanding of developing and landing the system software, new technology stack and electrical/electronic architecture.''

The company finished the Series A round of financing worth hundreds of millions of CNY from an investor group led by Intron Tech Hldgs, followed by Beijing Zhongguancun Development Frontier Enterprise Investment Fund in September 2021.

Greenstone's competitors include Thunder Software Tech (300496), Neusoft (600718) and ArcherMind Technology (300598).
