VR games play an important role in popularizing the VR experience and are one of the most available and favored content forms for players. How to bring high-quality and playable VR games to users is a major issue for developers and platforms.

VR、AR

Netvios(Chinese:网易影核) has gained recognition from the industry as a VR game publisher. On July 18, the company announced that it attained hundreds of millions of CNY in its Series A funding round, led by Xunxing Investment(Chinese:巡星投资). It has completed its series Pre-A and A funding round in just one year, with the Pre-A round exclusively invested by Fresh Capital(Chinese:清新资本).

The proceeds are to be used for the development of VR content, marketing, and team building, and to further improve its business layout in the virtual reality ecology.

Since the boom of the virtual reality (VR) industry six years ago, people have been always talking about what AR can bring us. However, the development of AR trailed behind people’s expectations due to the limited user experience. Popular and localized VR equipment and ecologies have finally come out in recent two years.

For the VR market, game publishers are particularly indispensable. As a bridge between developers and channels (hardware/platforms), publishers are responsible for discovering content that has the potential to become a hit and bringing it to the Chinese market once developers have rolled out their games.

Netvios is a joint venture established in China by NetEase(Chinese:网易游戏) and Survios, specializing in the distribution of virtual reality games. Netvios started building XR ecology in 2016.

Netvios has published games of multiple categories such as fighting, shooting, adventure, music, racing, sports, and casual games, and have at least one top VR game in each category.

Its competitors include Winking Entertainment(Chinese: 唯晶科技), Pangaea(Chinese: 庞际网络), and Shaozi Games(Chinese: 勺子网络).
