JAC(Chinese: 江淮汽车), an integrated car manufacturer, announced that the company affected by the Covid-19 and chip shortage, the announcement shows that the first six months of this year sold 235,200 units and chassis of all types, down 17.47% year-on-year.
Meanwhile, with prices of chips, batteries and other raw materials rising up, the company's gross profit from its main business in the first six months of 2022 decreased by about CNY 832 million compared with the same period of the previous year. Under the influence of multiple factors, JAC did not achieve profitability in the first half of this year.
However, in terms of sales, JAC's performance still highlighted to a certain extent. According to the official data released, in June of this year, JAC accumulated sales of 43,108 units and reached an increase of 4.86% and a growth of more than 20% year-on-year.
Besides, the cumulative sales of pure electric models were 18,126 units, up 55.55% year-on-year. In the first half of the year, JAC passenger car sales increased by 5.42% year-on-year to achieve a growth.
But in the field of commercial vehicles, JAC's commercial vehicle sales in the first half of the year fell 33.97% under the overall impact of the industry. Based on the data released from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), the commercial vehicle production and sales in the first half year were 1.683 million units and 1.702 million units, down 38.5% and 41.2% year-on-year. In addition, the CCAM predicts that the annual production and sales of commercial vehicles will show a continuous decline.
