CloudView Technology announced the closing of a strategic funding round worth nearly USD100 million(CNY 6.84 billion), with investment from leading global sovereign funds and existing shareholders including Transsion and Welight Capital. CloudView will use this round of investment to increase investment in research and development, accelerate local team building overseas, continue to drive user scale growth and support the team to further consolidate and enhance its market position in Africa and emerging markets around the world.

CloudView is a technology company established by Tencent, Transsion, and Welight in 2019, focusing on global Internet development. The company has offices and local teams in 11 countries including Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Côte d’Ivoire, and Nigeria. Its product Phoenix Browser is currently the fastest growing Android browser in the world, with business in more than 200 countries and regions, covering 65 countries along the "The Belt and Road Initiative". The product supports more than 25 international languages and provides local users with a wide variety of mobile digital content, including search, graphic information, long and short videos, music, games, novels and other content and services.

Phoenix Browser has gained popularity among African users and has risen to become the leading integrated content distribution platform in the African market. Africa is the world's last billion-strong mobile internet market with an extremely young population structure, with an average age of just 19 years old. The further promotion of the Belt and Road Initiative in past years has helped Africa greatly improve its telecommunications, mobile networks and other infrastructure conditions. The rapid spread of smartphones, the only devices available to most local users, has also provided fertile ground for the development of mobile internet services in Africa.

CloudView's international competitors include Google and Firefox and domestic ones include Baidu(Chinese:百度), Sogou(Chinese:搜狗) and Opera.
