Recently, power battery giant CATL and auto-maker Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen reached a battery swapping strategic cooperation that they will jointly develop models suited for battery swapping.
On October 25, power battery giant CATL (Chinese: 宁德时代), automaker Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen (Chinese: 神龙汽车), and CATL’s subsidiary CATL Battery Service (Chinese: 时代电服) signed a strategic cooperation framework on EVOGO battery swapping project. According to the agreement, they will jointly develop models suited for battery swapping based on Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen's model ES600, which is expected to come into the market in November this year.
Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen, founded as a joint venture of Dongfeng Auto and French PSA Group in 1992, is committed to developing safe and comfortable vehicles for customers. CATL Battery Service, established in January 2022 by power battery giant CATL, operates the EVOGO battery swapping project entirely. Also, it is responsible for developing battery swapping solutions comprised of battery, swap station and APP.
Moreover, this was not the first time CATL established strategic cooperations with OEMs. This April, CATL signed battery swapping EVOGO cooperation with NEV maker AIWAYS, founded as a start-up in 2017 with a mission to be a global automobile enterprise.
In the future, CATL will continue to broaden EVOGO's range of services and maintain competitiveness in battery swapping.
