DHL Releases its First ESG Report in China

On September 6th, DHL Group, a global logistics company, released its first 'Environmental, Social, and Governance Report' (ESG) in China, demonstrating DHL's commitment to environmental protection, social responsibility, and good governance. In 2022, the company achieved a revenue exceeding EUR 94 billion.

In terms of energy conservation and emissions reduction, DHL Global Forwarding has deployed electric trucks and electric container haulage vehicles in cities such as Shanghai and Shenzhen. They also offer sea and air freight services to customers using sustainable fuels through the GoGreen Plus service. Additionally, their railway multimodal transport service provides customers with environmentally friendly rail solutions, helping businesses achieve their carbon reduction goals.

In terms of corporate governance, DHL provides career development training for its employees. In March 2023, DHL was recognized as the 'Best Workplace in Greater China,' marking the company's eighth consecutive year on the list. The company places a strong emphasis on the rights of female employees, offering flexible working hours, equal pay, and competitive policy support for women. Additionally, the company fosters team cohesion and promotes employee interaction through a diverse range of activities, such as 'Let's Coffee' sessions with executives and events like Family Day.

In terms of government relations, in 2023, DHL established a representative office in Beijing and engaged in substantive interactions with important representatives of the Chinese government, in June 2023, Minister of China Transport Li Xiaopeng held discussions with DHL CEO Frank Appel and other executives in Berlin, during which they also visited the group's super parcel processing center

DHL aims to achieve an electrification rate of 60% for its ground operations and delivery vehicles by 2030. In China, DHL consistently follows its sustainable development roadmap as a core strategy to support the company's goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
