It is reported that Shan xi Ruizhi New Energy Technology ( Ruizhi New Energy), a developer of interface coating materials and solid-state electrolyte materials, has recently completed an angel round and angel plus round of financing.
Founded in 2021, Ruizhi New Energy is the first technology transfer company in the field of new energy batteries at Northwestern Polytechnical University. It is also a national high-tech technology company focused on the innovative research and production of solid-state electrolyte materials for lithium batteries. Its core products include lithium battery active function membranes and film-type solid-state electrolytes, with a focus on improving the performance of battery systems (liquid/semi-solid/solid).
Currently, the energy density of liquid lithium batteries is approaching its limit, and the development of higher energy density, improved safety, and longer cycle life in semi/full solid-state lithium batteries has become the main direction for battery technology upgrades. In response to this market demand, Ruizhi New Energy's research team has been working continuously on core technologies such as "interface functional coatings," "precise ion compensation," and "bi-directional composite modification methods" related to energy storage and converter devices and their key materials. They have successfully developed function membranes and film-type solid-state electrolyte products with independent intellectual property rights. These products can effectively adapt to the usage scenarios of various battery systems, including lithium, sodium, liquid, semi-solid, and solid.
It is reported that Ruizhi's first-generation function membrane products have already established joint research, testing, and supply partnerships with several first and second-tier battery manufacturers and have gained industry recognition. The second-generation ion compensation function membrane products and the third-generation film-type solid-state electrolytes have completed small-scale testing, with prototype batteries achieving an energy density of 450Wh/kg. These are suitable for extreme energy density, high-temperature resistance, and safety applications, and the process concept has also received preliminary approval from several manufacturers.
In terms of production line construction, Ruizhi New Energy's research team has undertaken the 2022 key research and development project for "Integration of Two Chains" in Shaanxi. They have established a laboratory for the development of key materials and special solutions, a testing platform for key materials, and a special battery assembly and testing platform. They have already built a production line capable of producing millions of square meters of active function membranes annually.
In terms of team development, Ruizhi New Energy currently has a research and development, engineering, and operations team of more than 30 people, and the core team members all have over 10 years of experience in electrochemical materials engineering, battery development, and small-batch production capabilities.
Based on the advantages of safety and energy density, solid-state lithium batteries have become the inevitable future direction for lithium battery development. Once technology successfully breaks through, the industry's growth curve will experience exponential growth. According to Huatai Securities, the global solid-state battery market is expected to exceed CNY 300 billion by 2030.
