The energy storage industry has a broad development prospect, with rapid technology iteration, wide application of new energy, and significant contribution to the creation of a low-carbon society.
WeView Energy Co., Ltd. (Chinese:
) released its first "Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report" on November 6th, describing the company's practical exploration of ESG management, action and performance, and making a commitment to sustainable development. From 2025 onwards, the company will provide more than 18 billion kWh of annual energy storage capacity to society, which will be equivalent to the electricity required by 6.9 million new energy vehicles in a year, while reduce carbon emissions by more than 10 million tons, equivalent to the carbon dioxide absorbed by 10 million mu of forests annually.
In order to realize this vision, WeView has continued to develop and scale up the application of flow batteries. Its new generation of zinc-iron flow battery GP110 is formulated with alkaline aqueous electrolyte, which is non-flammable, non-explosive, safe and non-toxic, characterized by extreme safety and long service life. The raw material, zinc-iron, is plentiful and readily available at affordable prices, providing significant cost advantages and great possibility for cost reduction.
In addition, due to the decoupling characteristics, this is to say, power module and energy module can be independently expanded, zinc-iron flow battery can be flexibly adjusted according to the needs of the system size and duration of energy storage, service life of up to 25 years, in 100% DOD (100% deep discharge) discharge cycle more than 30,000 times, independent of the impact of the geographic environment. It has the advantages of flexible location and easy deployment, which can fully empower the end-users such as energy storage system integrators, wind power stations, data centers, 5G base stations and other end-users to meet their needs in multiple scenarios.
In October, WeView's Gigawatt-class zinc-iron liquid current battery "Super G Factory" in Zhuhai went into production, with an annual production capacity of more than 6 Gigawatt-hours. It is an intelligent manufacturing factory that combines standardization, automation, digital intelligence and other features, and has become the first Gigawatt-class factory that has been put into production in the global liquid battery industry, marking the industry's realization of a huge leap forward from megawatt-class to Gigawatt-class production capacity.
During this year's Expo, WeView also signed a cooperation agreement with the People's Government of Wenling City, Zhejiang Province, where the zinc-iron flow battery "Super G Factory" project will be set up, which is of great significance in reducing the cost of energy storage kWh, accelerating the promotion of new energy applications, and reducing carbon emissions.
In the future, WeView will continue to offer highly efficient energy storage solutions oriented to sustainable development, support the effective consumption and share of clean energy, help build a high-quality ecological environment as well as a sustainable future, and promote the achievement of the national "dual carbon" target.
