EqualOcean has learned that recently, Terminus(特斯联), an artificial intelligence Internet of Things enterprise, completed a Series D financing round of CNY 2 billion.
This round of financing was jointly led by AL Capital and Yangming Equity Investment Fund(阳明股权投资基金), with follow-on investments from Futian Capital(福田资本), Gemdale Corporation(金地集团), Digital Chongqing(数字重庆), Nanchang Government Platform Company(南昌政府平台公司), Xuzhou Industrial Development Guidance Fund(徐州产业基金), Beijing Science and Technology Park Construction(北科建集团), Everbright Holdings(光大控股), and SenseTime Technology(商汤科技), among other new and existing shareholders.
Prior to this financing, Terminus had received investment support from IDG Capital(IDG资本), CITIC Industrial Capital(中信系产业资本), JD Technology(京东科技), and iFlytek(科大讯飞).
Established in 2015, Terminus is rooted in the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, focusing on five core scenes: buildings, communities, parks, cities, and carbon neutrality. It has long been committed to using intelligent technology to drive the intelligent upgrading of scenes, the prosperity of industrial ecology, and the landing of green and low-carbon initiatives.
In recent years, with the widespread adoption of AI, 5G, edge computing, and other technologies, the AIoT industry has experienced explosive growth, significantly increasing its applications in various aspects of life. AIoT collects various types of information through various sensors, conducts real-time structured processing and analysis using AI technology at the edge or in the cloud, achieves interconnection between devices and scenes, and builds a digital world of interconnected everything.
EqualOcean understands that the market scale of the AIoT industry chain is continuously expanding. It is estimated that by 2024, the market size of China's AIoT industry will reach CNY 1.7 trillion, with a market size growth rate of 17%. It is expected to continue to maintain high-speed growth in the coming years.
With the advent of the AI 2.0 era, AI technologies represented by large models will achieve interconnection with heterogeneous terminal devices, bringing new opportunities for the development of AIoT. Terminus's founder and CEO, Ai Yu(艾渝), pointed out that large models are both a challenge and an opportunity for technology companies like Terminus.
After this financing, Terminus will further consolidate its intelligent infrastructure centered on green intelligent computing, deepen the open platform of "model + system" with a large model, guide by its own business scenarios, and rapidly form industrialization and clustering effects, assisting partners in various industries to complete their digital transformation.
