The Beijing Auto Show was successfully held and Lei Jun attended the event, since its release, the Xiaomi EV car has accumulated a total of about 75,600 orders locked, of which 5,700 vehicles have been successfully delivered. Lei Jun also made a solemn commitment to deliver 100,000 millet cars this year and aspires to strive to become the world's top five automakers in the next 15 to 20 years.
In the video he posted, Lei Jun confessed, “The past 28 days have been like a dream, and I admit I'm a little incredulous that this is real. And, when everyone looks at you with a magnifying glass, every problem becomes a challenge. That's why every day was filled with anxiety, and we even created a pattern of answering all the questions of the day from our online friends every night, and we tried our best to respond no matter how late it was. We faced all the challenges, rumors and questions head-on.”
He added: “I think each of these 28 days was like an exam, and I barely think we passed the first round. However, we are facing a series of challenges such as delivery and quality.”
Lei Jun said it will be launched in three years for the international market. He explained, “Xiaomi itself is a highly internationalized company, and half of our business today comes from the global market, so I believe it's not too late to start entering the international market in three years.”
In addition to attending the Beijing Auto Show recently, Lei Jun also attended and spoke at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Meeting. Lei Jun promised at the scene to guarantee the delivery of 100,000 millet cars this year. In an interview afterward, Lei Jun talked about the plan of the Xiaomi EV car to enter the international market: “3 years later to start the international market, because the Xiaomi EV car is a highly internationalized company, we have half of today's business is from the global market (to get), so I believe that it is not too late to start to do it after three years.”
