AdvanSol, a domestic third-generation inverter and MLPE (Module Level Power Electronics) enterprise, has completed an angel + round of financing led by Edge Ventures.
EqualOcean has learned that "AdvanSol (爱昶汇智)", a domestic third-generation inverter and MLPE (Module-Level Power Electronics) company, has completed its Angel+ round of financing. The funding round was led by Edge Ventures (青锐创投). The raised funds will be used for product development and talent recruitment, further enhancing the company's overall competitiveness.
AdvanSol was established in August 2023 as a developer and manufacturer of third-generation inverter system solutions. The company is committed to creating high-cost-performance third-generation micro-string inverter technology with independent intellectual property rights in China.
MLPE, or Module-Level Power Electronics, also known as third-generation inverters, refers to power electronic devices in solar photovoltaic systems that can finely control individual or several photovoltaic modules. Compared to previous generations of inverters, MLPE's advantages lie in eliminating safety hazards while improving system power generation efficiency and operation and maintenance efficiency, demonstrating strong development potential and broad market prospects.
The current MLPE product series mainly includes three device solutions: micro-inverters, optimizers, and module-level shutdown devices. AdvanSol has chosen to build its inverter system solutions with a focus on module-level shutdown devices and optimizers, benchmarking against international manufacturers.
Micro-inverters are limited to small-area rooftop photovoltaics (including residential and small commercial and industrial applications), while micro-string inverter solutions based on shutdown devices and optimizers can be applied to small and medium-sized rooftop photovoltaics as well as large photovoltaic power stations.
Since its establishment, AdvanSol has adhered to technological innovation and rapid iteration, and has launched two sets of inverter system solutions centered around module-level management. The first is the V2.5 upgraded traditional string inverter solution, and the second is the V3.0 new intelligent micro-string inverter solution, which was unveiled for the first time at the 17th (2024) International Solar Photovoltaic and Smart Energy (Shanghai) Conference & Exhibition (SNEC) recently.
According to Dr. Chen Jian (陈健), the founder and CEO of AdvanSol, the V2.5 upgraded traditional string inverter solution can upgrade traditional photovoltaic power plants to the level of module-level control, optimization, shutdown, and monitoring without modifying the existing inverters of the power plant. The V2.5 solution is compatible with various types of traditional string inverters and has already been deployed in numerous projects both domestically and internationally.
