
Riyadh time on February 9, in Saudi Arabia's annual science and technology event LEAP 2025, Tencent Cloud announced that it will build the first Middle East data center in Saudi Arabia. Considering the need for local industry innovation, in the next few years it will invest more than USD 150 million (CNY 1092 million) in the Middle East for infrastructure, resources and related investment construction, to promote local digital economy innovation.
As early as March 2024, Tencent Cloud cooperated with Mobily, the second largest telecom operator in Saudi Arabia, helping Mobily build a new enterprise cloud service platform by Tencent Cloud Enterprise (TCE).
It is understood that Tencent Cloud international business has maintained double-digit growth for three consecutive years. By the end of 2024, the infrastructure has covered 21 countries and regions on five continents around the world, operating 58 availability zones. Tencent Cloud announced the construction of the first Middle East data center, which also marks a new stage of its international development.
The construction of the data center in Saudi Arabia, which is expected to be opened in 2025, will adopt a dual availability zone pattern to provide high-quality elastic computing, storage, security, AI and other cloud services to customers in the Middle East and surrounding regions, helping enterprises and organizations in the region achieve digital transformation.
