On January 12, Independent Variable Robotics Technology (自变量机器人) completed a RMB 1 billion Series A++ financing round.
The round was jointly invested by ByteDance (字节跳动), 红杉中国（HongShan Capital Group）, Beijing Information Industry Development Investment Fund (北京信息产业发展投资基金), Shenzhen Capital Group (深创投), Shenzhen Nanshan Strategic Emerging Industry Investment Co., Ltd. (南山战新投), and Wuxi Capital Group Co., Ltd. (锡创投), along with other leading investment institutions and local government-backed platforms. This also marks the first investment made by Shenzhen Capital Group’s AI Fund (深创投AI基金) since its establishment.
Notably, in addition to ByteDance, Independent Variable Robotics Technology had previously received investments from Meituan (美团) and Alibaba Group (阿里巴巴集团), making it the only embodied intelligence company in China to have secured investment from all three major internet companies.
