According to reports, a federal jury in Texas in the United States ruled that Intel did not infringe the patent previously owned by NXP semiconductor on computer acceleration method. The jury did not support NXP's infringement charges against Intel, and Intel avoided another damages of more than one billion dollars. A federal jury in Waco, Texas, said Intel had not infringed two patents owned by VLSI technology. Last month, another jury asked Intel to pay VLSI $2.18 billion, more than other patents. The two cases were tried in the same court.
