During the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, in addition to the police, the Tokyo Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games will deploy civilian police personnel in 43 competition venues mainly in Tokyo. At present, a joint enterprise composed of 553 private security companies is responsible for the security work of the Olympic venues and surrounding areas. In addition to luggage inspection and patrol at the venue, civilian police officers will also conduct traffic guidance around the venue.
