On August 14, Charles bullock, chief administrative law judge of the United States International Trade Commission (ITC), preliminarily ruled on Friday that Google infringed five patents of SONOS, involving smart speakers and related technologies. This decision may lead Google to face an import ban. Google has not commented on this news. But SONOS was satisfied with Friday's preliminary ruling, which confirmed Google's "flagrant infringement". It is reported that SONOS has been trying to prevent Google from importing home smart speakers, pixel phones and other products from China. SONOS shares rose 11.4% in after hours trading on Friday. However, it should be noted that block's ruling is only a preliminary trial. ITC website shows that the review time is set for December 13.
