Cailian, December 19 (Reuters) - voting for the seventh Legislative Council Election of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region began at 8:30 on the 19th. This is the first Legislative Council election held by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region after improving the electoral system. According to the arrangements announced by the SAR government, voting will end at 10.30 PM, and about 630 general polling stations and no more than 24 special polling stations will be opened in Hong Kong for 4.47 million registered voters to vote. The new Legislative Council of the HKSAR is composed of 90 members, including 40 members elected by the election committee, 30 members elected by functional groups and 20 members directly elected by geographical constituencies. The term of office of the seventh Legislative Council of the HKSAR will begin on January 1, 2022 for a four-year term.
