According to the data released by Clarkson, a British Shipbuilding and shipping industry analysis organization, in January this year, the global new ship orders were 3.07 million revised gross tons (CGT), an increase of 72% month on month, of which the orders undertaken by South Korea were 1.38 million revised gross tons, accounting for 45%, ranking second only to China (1.47 million revised gross tons, 48%). In terms of ship types, liquefied natural gas carriers (LNG ships) with more than 140000 cubic meters and large container ships with 12000 standard containers (TEU) account for 67% of the total orders.
