State Councilor and foreign minister Wang Yi and foreign minister birawal of Pakistan jointly met with reporters after the talks. In response to a reporter's question about different responses to the "Indo Pacific economic framework" announced by the US president during his visit to Asia, Wang Yi said that China, like countries in the region, is happy to see initiatives conducive to strengthening regional cooperation, but opposes attempts to create separatist confrontation. What kind of "Indian Pacific economic framework" does the United States belong to? First, draw a big question mark to see through the hidden plot behind it. China believes that the evaluation criteria should be "three should's and three shouldn't's". First, we should promote free trade and should not engage in disguised protectionism. Asia is a region with high acceptance and outstanding achievements in globalization and free trade. All parties have implemented the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO), established the trade objectives of the Asia Pacific free area, launched the regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement (RCEP), and built a regional cooperation platform centered on ASEAN, which has effectively promoted the liberalization and facilitation of regional trade and investment. The United States, on the other hand, pursued protectionism, withdrew from the trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) advocated by itself and went to the opposite of free trade. What the United States should do is to act in accordance with the rules of free trade, rather than start a new stove and set up another set, impact the current regional cooperation framework and reverse regional integration. Second, it should contribute to the recovery of the world economy and should not undermine the stability of the industrial chain. At present, the world economy is in a difficult time. The energy crisis, food crisis and supply chain crisis are coming one after another. The inflation level in many countries has reached a new high in decades, and the basic life of the people has been seriously affected. Is the United States promoting the accelerated recovery of the world economy, or should it artificially create economic decoupling, technological blockade, industrial chain disconnection and exacerbate the supply chain crisis? A few years ago, the US launched a trade war with China, which has brought serious consequences to the world and the United States. The lesson can be described as profound. The US side should know its mistakes and correct them, rather than make mistakes again and again. Third, we should promote openness and cooperation and should not create geographical confrontation. Openness is an important principle of our regional cooperation. If the "Indo Pacific economic framework" becomes a political tool for the United States to maintain regional economic hegemony and deliberately exclude specific countries, this road will go astray. Is the United States politicizing, weaponizing and ideologizing economic issues and using economic means to coerce regional countries to choose sides between China and the United States? Countries in the region have reason to ask the United States to answer honestly. The key to success in the Asia Pacific region is win-win cooperation, not zero sum confrontation. The Asia Pacific should become a highland for peaceful development, not a geopolitical arena. Attempts to make the Asia Pacific a bloc, a NATO, and a cold war cannot succeed. Wang Yi said that China is an advocate, promoter and defender of Asia Pacific regional cooperation. We have no geopolitical selfishness, only the sincerity of unity and cooperation. We have no intention of playing any challenge with any country. We just hope to develop together with countries in the region. China has lived and multiplied in the Asian continent for 5000 years, and our roots are deeply rooted in this land. I will stand firm in spite of your ups and downs. Today, China has become the largest trading partner of the vast majority of countries in the region, and the interests of countries in the region have been deeply integrated. China's large-scale market with a population of 1.4 billion will continue to be fully opened to regional countries, and the road of mutual benefit and win-win results will be wider and wider. If they try to isolate China in any framework, they will eventually isolate themselves. Making up some rules to exclude China will be abandoned by the development of the times.
