State Food and Drug Administration: "Meitong" should look for regular merchants for purchase

Recently, the State Food and Drug Administration issued the "tips on purchasing and using decorative color flat light contact lenses (Meitong)", reminding consumers to purchase from medical device operators with relevant business license qualifications, and not to purchase unregistered products from informal businesses for cheap prices. It is understood that in China, "Meitong", as the third category of medical device management, can only be produced, sold and used after obtaining the medical device registration certificate through safety and effectiveness evaluation before listing. Its manufacturing enterprises need to obtain the medical device production license, and the businesses operating such products need to obtain the medical device business license. The State Food and Drug Administration reminded that when purchasing and using "Meitong" and its nursing products, it should be purchased from a medical device business enterprise with relevant business license qualifications, and check whether the purchased products have obtained the medical device registration certificate, carefully check whether there are medical device registration certificate number, manufacturer name, production date and other information, and save the purchase certificate. Imported "Meitong" and its nursing products shall also be attached with Chinese labels and instructions. To query the relevant information of the medical device registration certificate, you can log in the "data query" column of the website of the State Drug Administration. Do not buy unregistered products from informal businesses or online shops for cheap prices.
