[FATF will release the travel rule implementation report this month] on June 18, it was reported that the financial action task force on money laundering (FATF) was preparing to release a report on the implementation of its travel rule by Member States and the new views on defi. It is reported that the agency released the final encryption guide in October 2021, including the standards for virtual assets and virtual asset service providers (VASP). Travel rule will require enterprises to collect and transmit information about both parties to the transaction. Since the adoption of the standard last year, countries have been working hard to implement the standard, and cryptocurrency companies are also competing to propose solutions. FATF meets three times a year to assess risks, discuss potential guidance and track the progress of member states in implementing existing guidance. At a series of recent meetings, FATF discussed the "targeted update" of VASP standard implementation and prepared a report focusing on the implementation of travel rule, which is expected to be released at the end of June. FATF concluded that the report will highlight the progress made, but the report also pointed out that not all Member States have enacted regulations to comply with the travel rule. (The Block)
