A tariff tracking tool developed jointly by the World Trade Organization and the International Monetary Fund shows that, as of the 7th, the U.S. trade-weighted average tariff rate on all products has surged to 20.11%, a significant increase from 2.44% at the beginning of the year. The simple average tariff rate on all U.S. imports has risen from 2.08% at the start of the year to 17.39% on the 7th. The global trade affected by these tariffs has jumped from USD 288.46 billion at the beginning of the year to USD 2.747 trillion currently.
