OpenAI will begin producing its first in-house AI chips in 2026, co-designed with Broadcom to reduce reliance on NVIDIA and meet growing compute demands. Analysts say this move positions OpenAI alongside Google, Amazon, and Meta in developing proprietary chips and could fuel faster growth for Broadcom’s custom AI chip business.
