Hangzhou. Alibaba (阿里巴巴) is ramping up its cross-border e-commerce strategy as its Southeast Asian platform Lazada achieves system-level integration with Tmall (天猫) for the first time. A dedicated project team has been established to help Tmall merchants seamlessly connect with Southeast Asian markets through Lazada. Meanwhile, Alibaba’s 1688 platform unveiled its new AI-powered cross-border product, designed to offer intelligent product sourcing and supplier matching for small and medium-sized exporters. The tool, scheduled for launch in November 2025, aims to shorten product selection time from days to minutes. Industry analysts say Alibaba’s integration efforts are expanding global access to Chinese goods while providing domestic sellers with broader overseas market channels.
