Yunshuxie announces its B round of funding with Hillhouse as the lead investor.
“The China Education Modernization 2035 - Language Education Summit Forum (2019)" hosted by Beijing Yunshuxie was successfully held in Beijing to discuss how to achieve higher quality, efficiency and sustainable development of language education. At the meeting, Yunshuxie announced that it had received an investment of around RMB 100 million with Hillhouse as the lead investor followed by Zhou Li Capital, Jingmeiti, a Chinese media company, reported.
Leading Investor, Hillhouse Capital said, “The new curriculum reform has brought new opportunities to the market. We are optimistic about the future development of the language education field.”
Hillhouse Capital Group is an investment management firm, based in Asia, founded by Zhang Lei in 2005 with USD 20 million seed capital from the Yale Endowment. Hillhouse has offices in New York, Beijing, Hong Kong, and Singapore. It invests globally, with a focus on Asia.
The company manages over USD 50 billion as of October 2018. Hillhouse is a long-term fundamental research-driven equity investor. Hillhouse focuses on the consumer, TMT, industrials and healthcare sectors and invests in companies across all equity stages.
Hillhouse until now has also made huge contributions to the Chinese education industry. It has backed and invested millions of dollars in companies such as TAL education, Golden education, Renmin University, Kaochong, etc.

It is understood that this round of financing will mainly be used for research and development of Yunshuxie’s high-quality content in language education and Better empowerment for students and language teachers.
At the same time, it also announced the "Online Teaching and Research Alliance" for the national language teacher's public welfare project, and six strategic cooperation with the Peking University and Central China Normal University on the construction of the language education supply community.
