On April 16, XPeng Motors launched its first smart electric coupe, the P7 (the internal code name is E28), at the Automobile Shanghai with the theme of "born smart". HE Xiaopeng, CEO of XPeng Motors, announced at the scene that the P7 is open for pre-sale and the new car will be delivered in the second quarter of 2020.

The NEDC Range Over 600km

This is the second model of XPeng Motors, whose first mass production vehicle, the G3, was launched in April 2018. It is positioned as a smart pure electric SUV. The G3 officially went on sale in December 2018, with an official retail price of CNY 227,800 and a comprehensive subsidy of CNY 135,800.

XPeng launched a large-scale delivery of the G3 at the end of March this year, with a plan to deliver 10,000 vehicles by the end of July and 40,000 in 2019. Currently, the G3 has 40 new features added through the OTA upgrade.

According to XPeng Motors, this model will be built at XPeng's own Zhaoqing factory. The P7's NEDC has a range of more than 600km, and the advanced version is equipped with a dual-motor four-wheel drive, and only needs 4 seconds for 100km of acceleration.

Seen from the outside, this car owner adopts a sports style, with a low centre of gravity, a sliding body, equipped with a panoramic glass roof, frameless door, hidden door handle and other designs, as a pure electric sedan, its wheelbase of up to 3 meters, 4.9 meters long car. In shape alone, the P7 resembles the Model S.

"The P7 is a cool high-end four-door coupe," said HE Xiaopeng. "human-vehicle interaction, autonomous driving and intelligent innovation are the most competitive points."

In March, XPeng opened service centres in six cities, including Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing and Dongguan. In order to cooperate with the large-scale delivery of new vehicles, HE Xiaopeng also announced the opening of the "2S+2S" new retail model on the scene, online and offline multichannel layout, and through the combination of direct sales and franchisees, get through the sales and service data.

XPeng has 20 offline outlets for now, which are expected to increase to 100 by the end of the year. In addition, XPeng Motors has long been engaged in the construction of the charging network. During the Automobile Guangzhou last year, XPeng released the "Pengyou +" plan: it is expected to sign a contract with 1,000 supercharger stations within three years, basically access to the country's major third-party charging operators, and get through the one-stop service of inspection pile, charging, payment and settlement.
