After years of exploration, technology companies came up with a promising application scenario for artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT): Smart home. Collaboration between traditional home appliance manufacturers and tech platforms has been on the upswing recently.
Tuya Smart (涂鸦智能), a Chinese smart home player, signed a cooperation agreement with house decoration designer Mehos (美好家) on July 6. Tuya Smart will help upgrade Mehos’s house decoration solutions and become one of Mehos’s smart home product suppliers.
Founded in 2014, Tuya Smart provides an “AI + IoT” smart home platform to upgrade home décor products of its clients, including consumers, home appliance manufacturers, OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and retailers. Tuya Smart claims to have served around 93,000 clients, sold over 100 million smart home devices and intelligentized more than 30,000 products.
In the real estate industry, Tuya Smart released Tuya House, an integrated smart home SaaS solution, which helps real estate companies to upgrade every aspect of their business, including design, construction, operation and management. They have cooperated with famous Chinese real estate giants, such as Greenland Group, Gemdale, COFCO and so on.
By integrating home appliance companies into one platform and hiring talented house decoration designers, Mehos provides integrated house decoration solutions to consumers and real estate agents. According to Mehos, the company has operated in 15 cities nationwide and served more than 50,000 households.
Lu Zheng (鲁征), general manager of Mehos's Hangzhou subsidiary, claimed that “after having a taste of the convenience afforded by smart home devices, customers cannot live without it. Smart home is an inevitable trend, and Mehos will seize this opportunity. The AI + IoT platform of Tuya Smart will help us develop customized and intelligent solutions.”
