The electric SUV made its debut at the 2019 ChinaJoy, the largest gaming and digital entertainment expo in Asia. At the event, it was also the official vehicle of the Razer eSports team. Only 88 of those will be made with a price tag of CNY 487,800 (USD 67,400) which is a few grand more than the ES6.

The NIght Explorer is clearly meant for hardcore fans of Razer, as there are several other electric SUV options on the market. The ongoing partnership between the two companies may mean that there are more collaborations in the works, though it remains to be seen whether future products will be for U.S. customers.

"The NIO ES6 inherits the design language of the NIO family of vehicles, with a stylish, sporty exterior and luxurious, high-tech interior. The NIO ES6 Night Explorer Edition Vehicle is built on the NIO ES6 Performance Edition, equipping NIO Pilot, NOMI Mate, enhanced displays and other high-tech appointments. These familiar NIO markers are complemented by an exclusive Razer design package that includes the classic Razer logo and trim, carbon fiber decals, green calipers, a custom rear emblem and design package."

NIO has become also the official car of the Razer eSports team and the two will explore more areas of collaboration:

"The two companies will explore integrating Razer Chroma and Hue Lights and THX Spatial Audio with existing automotive technologies, bringing better quality and driving experiences to the discerning customer base of gamers through immersive ambient lighting effects and innovatively enhanced in-vehicle audio. NIO and Razer are devoted to creating a car dedicated to the influx of eSports players and enthusiasts."

The NIO ES6 packs in a maximum output of 544hp. It blazes from 0-100km/h in only 4.7 seconds. Despite the performance, the electric SUV can still last up to 520km on one charge. Further, the car features “NOMI” which is an advanced AI infotainment system.

Besides the car’s launch, Razer has also started promotional campaigns related to the SUV. Like mentioned above in the article, the NIO ES6 will become the Razer eSports team’s official car. Further, Razer is giving away test driver experiences and merchandise for both Razer and NIO users.
