On December 9-11, 2020, EqualOcean will host this year's World Innovators Meet (WIM). Having extensive experience in such well-known companies as Google and YouTube and growing 500 Startups to over $500M committed capital, Christine wants to share with WIM's audience her insights about Global Startup Ecosystems.
Christine holds a B.A. in Cognitive Science from the University of California at Berkeley. While at Berkeley, she was accepted into the prestigious Undergraduate Research Apprentice Program for Psychology. But she spent her entire professional career building and investing in Silicon Valley.
From 2003 to 2010, Christine held product marketing and operating roles at Google, focusing on monetization and developer products. She also was part of the original technical support team that helped launch an advertising program for website publishers which now accounts for a significant part of Google's revenue – Google AdSense. During her tenure at Google, Christine also drove developer and syndication marketing at YouTube post-Google acquisition. Moreover, she oversaw marketing for YouTube's APIs and developer tools and collaborated with numerous developers and early-stage startups integrating YouTube into their products.
Nowadays 500 Startups is the most active global venture capital firm. It has backed more than 2,400+ companies or 5,000+ entrepreneurs in 75+ countries, spanning almost every continent. The 500 Startups team consists of 100+ staff across 20 different countries.
