Bilibili to Launch Online Payment Product – Bilibilipay

On January 6, the domain name information record management system of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the Chinese government showed that Shanghai Huandian Information Technology Co., Ltd., an affiliated company of Station B, completed the registration of 'biliblipay.com' and 'bilibilipay.cn.' At present, Bilibili has not made a response to inquiries.

In November 2020, BiliBili showed signs of laying out a financial payment business. It began to make posts related to a payment business on its official website and several recruitment websites. 

In recent years, the popularity of the Internet finance industry has continued to rise, and payment plays an irreplaceable role in the Internet Financial Ecological closed loop. Where there is consumption, payment will be involved. Besides BAT, NetEase, millet, Jingdong, Qihoo 360, Kwai Mei and other Internet companies have followed up with their own plans for Internet-based financial payment businesses. Ctrip, quick hand, byte beating, and many others have also received a payment license directly or indirectly.

From 2011 to 2015, the people's Bank of China issued a total of 271 payment licenses, and no new licenses were issued subsequently. At present, the stock of payment licenses in the market is still in the process of decreasing – and the license resources are in short supply.
