4Paradigm Receives USD 700 Mn in Series D

Established in 2014, the company has become a star in the AI-enabled anti-fraud financial area and still has vast room for growth.

On January 21, 2021, 4Paradigm announced that it has raised USD 700 million in a Series D led by Boyu Capital, Primavera Capital and Hopu Fund. This round of financing has also attracted a bunch of strategic investors, such as the National Manufacturing Transformation and Upgrade Fund, China Development Bank, China Construction Bank (CCB) and China Securities. The funding raised in this round will be mainly used for building its AI Application System and attracting talents.

Founded in 2014, the company views its mission as making 'AI for everyone'. In 2017, the company released Sage 3.0, a product that continuously updates and optimizes AI applications with feedback data from the closed-loop of data introduction. By the end of 2020, the product had helped banks develop more than 2.5 billion new credit card fraud detection strategies, which improves the accuracy of anti-fraud identification by seven times.

 The company has attracted many famous investors, including the top five large state-owned banks. In 2017, it completes series B financing invested by Genesis Capital, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), Bank of China (BOC) and CCB. In 2018, the company received CNY 1 billion in series C and built strategic cooperation with the China Reform TUS Fund, Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) and Bank of Communications (BOCOM). The company is the only start-up in China that receives investment from China's Big Five' state-owned Banks (BOC, ICBC, CCB, ABC, BOCOM).
