China Unicom Releases Its 5G User Data for the First Time

Till now, the three largest operators of China have attracted 300 million 5G users totally in China.

On March 11, China Unicom released its 2020 annual performance report. In 2020, China Unicom achieves revenue of CNY 303.838 billion, up 4.6% year-on-year. Meanwhile, the company's net profit reaches CNY 5.521 billion, up 10.8% year on year.

 Notably, China Unicom disclosed 5G users for the first time. In 2020, the company's 5G users number reaches 70.8 million and takes a market share of 23%, 20% higher than the industry average. According to the company, with the further improvement of 5G network coverage, the company will strive to promote the number of 5G users to continue to increase in 2021.

So far, the three domestic operators all have announced the number of 5G users. By the end of last year, China Mobile has 165 million 5G users, while China Telecom has 86.5 million 5G users. The total number of 5G users of the three major operators has exceeded 300 million.
