On June 7, Chen Lin, CEO of Dali Education, delivered an internal speech, saying that "the firm's management is patient regarding the education sector and will continue to invest in the future."

Vigorously promote education

Dali Education was officially established in October 2020, and integrates more than 20 education projects under ByteDance. Its key businesses are all consumer-oriented, including Guagualong, the animated interactive course for 3-8 year olds, Qingbei Online School, an extracurricular tutoring brand for primary and secondary school students, and the Dali Smart Lamp, which helps parents supervise their children's learning.

On May 21, the Central Committee for Deepening Reform mentioned that non-compliant off-campus training institutions will be "strictly managed" and "seriously investigated" to reduce the burden on students. Since the end of May, Zuoyebang, Yuanfudao, Tencent Education and Xueersi Online School have suspended the entry process for some new hires, mainly focusing on sales and tutor positions.

The fact that Dali Education has been able to refrain from laying off staff this time is not only owing to the abundance of funds, but also related to the business philosophy of ByteDance, which is different from other institutions. Dali Education believes that schools are the mainstay of education, which is a useful supplement to public education. Chen Lin said that "the company will invest heavily in school products, which serves to help schools and teachers with accurate teaching."
