Sinopec-Backed Industrial Intelligence Firm Tsingyun Closes Two Funding Rounds

Industrial intelligence firm Tsingyun Intelligence, co-founded by Tsinghua University, Tsinghua Holdings, and Zhongguancun Development Group, announced its Series-B and Series-B+ financing round worth hundreds of millions of CNY, led by GL Ventures and Sinopec Capital respectively.

Tsingyun Intelligence (Chinese: 清云智通), an industrial intelligence service provider, completed its Series B and Series B+ funding round worth hundreds of millions of CNY today, news portal 36kr.com reported. 

Tsingyun’s Series B round of financing was led by GL Ventures, with participation by Baidu, CDH Fund, and Zehra Fund. Its Series B+ was led by Sinopec Capital, a venture capital that was jointly established by Sinopec Group and Sinopec Corp.. Phoenixitree Capital acted as a financial advisor. 

These two rounds of financing will mainly be used on in-depth R&D in digital twin technology, industrial intelligent unmanned technology, and new process package technology to promote cooperation with more industrial partners, help customers carry out digital and intelligent transformation and upgrading, then achieve cost reduction, efficiency increase, carbon reduction, and energy saving. 

Li Liang, the founder and partner of GL Ventures, said that Tsingyun has rich theoretical and technological research support from Tsinghua University. The team connects the advanced control technology of dynamic feedback, and molecular-level process simulation technology with industrial Internet, artificial intelligence, and other technologies, breaking the long-term monopoly of overseas industrial software giants in related sectors. 

After years of development, Tsingyun has established the whole process capability from R&D design, monitoring, and diagnosing to a closed-loop control system, and has launched products on equipment, factories, and parks’ sides, helping customers in the petrochemical, energy, metallurgy, and other fields to achieve development with more safety, lower carbon, and more efficiency. 

Tsingyun Intelligence’s competitors include Honeywell International, Samsara, Liyuanheng (Chinese: 利元亨), CSG (Chinese: 科大智能), Altizon System, and Realtime Internet (Chinese: 力太互联).
