On July 28, Horizon Robotics Co. announced that it had completed the transaction of a strategic investment from FAW Group. The fund is mainly used to improve the research and development capabilities and accelerate the mass production of car-level chips.
A global leading AI-powered-chip developer Horizon Robotics (Chinese:地平线) has reached strategic collaboration with FAW Group (Chinese:一汽); and also, Horizon Robotics has won many well-known automakers-related-capital’s strategic investments, including SAIC (Chinese:上汽), Dongfeng Motor (Chinese:东风), Great Wall Motors (Chinese:长城), GAC Group (Chinese:广汽) and BYD (Chinese：比亚迪), etc. The car-level AI processors have been adopted by over 70 models of vehicles with more than 20 automakers from the domestic and global markets for mass production projects.
Horizon Robotics has launched three vehicle-level chips named Journey 2, Journey 3, and Journey 5. And the cumulative shipments of this Journey series chip have exceeded 1 million. Until now, by providing the latest Journey 5 chips, Horizon Robotics has also built collaborations with some advanced autonomous driving solution providers, such as Hongjingdrive Co. (Chinese:宏景智驾), Qcraft Co. (Chinese:轻舟智航), Juefx Co. (Chinese:觉非科技), etc.
The in-depth cooperation with automakers and autonomous driving solution providers will accelerate the development of the automotive industry.
