Recently, Hebei Kuntian New Energy Co. LTD. (hereinafter referred to as Kuntian) (Chinese: 坤天新能源) raised over CNY 1 billion (USD 136.7 million) from a strategic round of investment jointly led by Sinopec Capital (Chinese: 中石化资本), SK China and CICC Capital (Chinese: 中金资本) and followed by investors including Fosun Capital (Chinese: 复星创富), SANY Group (Chinese: 三一集团) and Guangfa Qianhe Investment (Chinese: 广发乾和). This investment will be used in capacity expansion of over 200,000 tons of lithium-ion battery cathode materials' integrated manufacturing in Yunnan Province.

Founded in 2000, Kuntian has been the first domestic company to perform graphitization of lithium-ion battery anode materials applying the company's self-developed box furnace technology in 2012. Compared to traditional methods, box furnace technology significantly decreases energy consumption and increases capacity utilization.

Meanwhile, Kuntian is one of the first domestic companies to implement integration strategy, accomplishing raw materials procurement and final packaging in one industrial park. The company currently owns multiple graphite production lines and hundreds of graphitizing furnaces.

In the future, Kuntian will continuously enhance its R&D and integrated industrial layout capabilities, providing assistance for maintaining Chinese NEV's status worldwide. The company will proceed to optimize its technology whilst keeping energy conservation and emission reduction at its core.
