Under the backdrop of China's active promotion of high-level opening-up and the trend of going global, the "GoGlobal Committee of 100" (GGC100), led by the renowned think tank EqualOcean, was officially launched recently.
The GoGlobal Committee of 100 aims to gather various stakeholders including frontline entrepreneurs or business leaders, investors, scholars, and media personnel to promote communication and exchange between China and overseas, as well as between business and academia, civil society, and policy makers, in order to assist Chinese companies in going global and becoming more international.
The first batch of members of the GoGlobal Committee of 100 includes major representatives from exemplary companies such as Meituan, Alibaba, Anker Innovations, Newborn Town, Westwell, InLink Group, NewLink, Xingyun Group, Kool (Kujiale), Laiye, among others. The list also includes partners from investment firms such as IDG, JAFCO Asia, Fosun RZ Capital, AC Ventures, InCapital, as well as senior scholars and media personnel who have worked or are currently working at institutions and universities such as Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, and China Foreign Affairs University.
The initiator of the GoGlobal Committee of 100 and founder of EqualOcean, Huang Yuanpu, introduced the original intention of the initiative: "Opening up to the outside world is China's basic national policy, and in the new era, China's door will only open wider. The meaning of opening up to the outside world is not only welcoming foreign-funded enterprises to come in, but also supporting Chinese enterprises to actively go out. Currently, going global has become a necessary route for Chinese companies to upgrade, but there are still many pain points that hinder this process, such as the high overseas cognitive threshold, difficulties in building overseas relationship networks, and misunderstandings towards Chinese enterprises."
"The GoGlobal Committee of 100 is committed to becoming a global high-end resource network, inviting elites from various industries to join. In the future, it will also establish regional organizations in Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, Europe, North America, Latin America and other regions, with membership open to all industries and nationalities. On the basis of being optimistic about China, we will build a bridge between China and the world, and promote cooperation and win-win outcomes among members."
It is reported that the GoGlobal Committee of 100 adopts an invitation-based system, and the membership is constantly increasing. The basic composition of the members are: core decision-makers of post-Series B companies actively developing international businesses, well-known investment executives or higher-level investors in the direction of going global, and well-known scholars and media experts who have conducted in-depth research on globalization.
The GoGlobal Committee of 100 has now opened an online community and will strengthen interaction through organizing private board meetings and closed-door exchange meetings. At the same time, the GoGlobal Committee of 100 also plans to organize international business tours, and participate in exchange meetings and discussions on cooperation with local government departments, core enterprises, universities, and business organizations in overseas markets or countries.
