Outdoor Sports Brand PELLIOT Launches A-share IPO

EqualOcean has learned that PELLIOT(伯希和) signed a listing counseling agreement with Guoyuan Futures on July 27, 2023, intending to be listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

Established in 2012 and headquartered in Beijing, PELLIOT is a fashionable outdoor brand dedicated to promoting the development of a high-quality outdoor lifestyle, with apparel focusing on functionality, comfort, and durability, as well as modern technological materials, creating fashionable equipment for outdoor sports. PELLIOT's revenue in 2022 exceeded CNY 500 million, and it plans to achieve CNY 1.5 billion of revenue scale in 2023. Up to now, there are more than 100 offline shops nationwide, and in 2022 opened China's first brand experience hall, PELLIOT SPACE.

Focusing on the innovative design and R&D of outdoor functions, PELLIOT independently created the PT-CHINA new natural technology platform and has developed a series of product lines such as PERFORMANCE, MOUNTAIN, CLASSIC, TRAINING, etc., covering hiking, mountaineering, camping, pleasant wild and other new natural outdoor scenarios. On the technical end, PELLIOT has formed strategic partnerships with top global outdoor technology providers such as POLARTEC, EVENT, CORDURA, PRIMALOFT, DERMIZAX, VIBRAM, POLYGIENE, and RECCO.

In recent years, emerging outdoor activities such as flying discs, cycling, and camping have become popular among people, creating vast opportunities in China's outdoor sports equipment industry. According to data from CHYXX, it is estimated that the market will reach CNY 241 billion by 2025, with a CAGR of 7.3% from 2020 to 2025. The global outdoor sports market size was USD 2002 billion in 2022, a year-on-year growth of 10.49%; the outdoor sporting goods market size is expected to reach USD 215.6 billion in 2023.

The competition in China's outdoor industry is characterized by domestic brands dominating the mid-to-high and low-end segments. Mid-to-high-end brands include TOREAD(探路者), Marmot(土拨鼠), PELLIOT(伯希和), Decathlon(迪卡侬), Columbia(哥伦比亚), and MobiGarden(牧高笛), while the high-end market is dominated by foreign brands like THE NORTH FACE(北面), Arc'teryx(始祖鸟), and Jack Wolfskin(狼爪). In addition, companies like Nike, lululemon, and ANTA(安踏) have also entered the outdoor sports market, attempting to expand their business growth.
