The 20th China-ASEAN Expo: Over RMB 480 Billion of Total Investment Signed

The signing ceremony of the 20th China-ASEAN Expo was held on September 17 in Nanning, Guangxi. A total of 470 investment and cooperation projects were signed at this year's China-ASEAN Expo, with a total investment of RMB 487.3 billion, a record high.

The theme of this year's Expo is "Harmony and Coexistence to Build a Home, Destiny and Coexistence to the Future - Promoting the High-Quality Development of the 'the Belt and the Road' and Creating an Economic Growth Center", focusing on the digital economy, green economy and other key areas of the China-ASEAN FTA 3.0 to help strategic emerging industries to explore the international market. A total of 1,953 enterprises participated in the Expo, an increase of 18.2% over the previous session. 470 investment and cooperation projects were signed, with a total investment of RMB 487.3 billion, of which manufacturing investment accounted for more than 65%. This year’s Expo recorded a record high in the number of events, the number of projects, the total amount of investment and the share of investment in manufacturing industry. 

There were many famous Chinese and foreign enterprises coming to participate in the Expo, including the world's top 500 enterprises, China's top 500 enterprises, and some small giants that specialize in specialties and innovations. In China, there are famous enterprises such as Alibaba(阿里巴巴), NetEase(网易), HENGYI(恒逸). Overseas, there are Borneo, Pelindo, PSN, SDH and so on. 

Chinese Premier Li Qiang(李强) said in his opening speech that China and ASEAN countries should continue to build and utilize the platform of China-ASEAN Expo and join hands to build a closer community of destiny. Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính(范明政) also said that with the current slow recovery of the world economy and the expanding demand for cooperation between ASEAN and China, the two sides should expand the areas of cooperation to new industries such as green economy, digital economy, recycling economy, emerging materials, sharing economy, and so on, so as to create a new impetus for economic growth.
