In recent years, even as the social environment has changed, KHC(NASDAQ: KHC) has continued to leverage its scale and flexibility to actively promote high-quality corporate development and make significant progress on the three core pillars of ESG.

On November 9th, KHC(NASDAQ: KHC) recently unveiled its "2023 Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) Report: Dining Together at the Same Table," highlighting key achievements in ESG's three core areas: "Healthy Living and Community Support," "Environmental Management," and "Responsible Procurement." The report also shared progress on KHC's goal of "Nourishing the Communities and the Planet It Serves."

In the realm of "Healthy Living and Community Support," KHC not only prioritizes the well-being of its employees but also consistently enhances the quality of its health products, striving to create positive moments for employees and communities alike. In terms of "Healthy Living and Community Support," the company increased the proportion of women in global management positions from 39% in 2021 to 41% in 2022 by implementing a data-driven Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEI&B) strategy.

Regarding "Environmental Management," to address ongoing environmental challenges, KHC continuously innovates within its operational footprint and value chain. The company has introduced solutions for energy, carbon, water, packaging, and waste management. In China, KHC actively promotes the construction of new energy and renewable energy projects. Its Shanghai factory, since August 2018, has been advancing photovoltaic environmental infrastructure, with 3,000 solar panels covering 4,910.4 square meters, saving 965,000 kilowatt-hours of energy annually. The Shanghai factory has also implemented a Clean-in-Place system, recycling cleaning water and bottle-washing water, resulting in an annual water savings of 21,158.64 tons.

In the realm of "Responsible Procurement," KHC is exploring potential value in the sustainable development field to provide responsible procurement choices. For instance, in 2022, based on the company's "Sustainable Agricultural Practices Manual," 75% of the tomatoes used in Heinz ketchup were sustainably sourced.

Rashida La Lande, Executive Vice President, Global General Counsel, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer at KHC, stated, "We still have a long way to go in the future. Initiatives such as innovative collaboration with industry partners and continued investment in renewable energy will empower us to progress towards our goals and contribute to the advancement of the industry."
