On May 15th, Wuling Indonesia unveiled the price of its new electric vehicle, the Cloud EV, at a launch event held in Jakarta's Senayan City. Priced at 398 million Indonesian Rupiah (approximately 180,000 Chinese Yuan), the Cloud EV is Wuling Indonesia's third electric vehicle following the Air EV and Bingou EV. With a range of 460 kilometers, the Cloud EV features a 15.6-inch main screen, an 8.8-inch instrument panel, and leather interior, targeting home use and comfortable driving.
From a design perspective, the Cloud EV's name aptly reflects its overlapping cloud-like exterior design. The vehicle adopts popular floating roofs and hidden door handle designs. Wuling has equipped the Cloud EV with an intelligent ecosystem supporting various driving assistance functions such as adaptive cruise control, lane recognition, safety distance and braking assistance, automatic lighting, as well as a 360-degree camera system, wireless charger, and USB ports with 20W fast charging capability.
Wuling showcased the Cloud EV at the 2024 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS2024) where President Joko Widodo visited their booth, expressing admiration for the vehicle's color and shape. This Wuling electric car has a range of 505 kilometers.
Since 2022, there have been subtle changes in the Indonesian market landscape. Wuling has dominated the Indonesian electric vehicle market, capturing nearly 78% market share with 8,053 units sold, followed by Hyundai with nearly 20% market share. Following the production of Wuling Air EV in Indonesia, leading domestic battery supplier Guoxuan High-Tech has also set foot in Indonesia, with its first domestically produced power battery set to supply Wuling Indonesia soon.
