Tencent's continuous global expansion with digital ecosystem taking the lead

On March 19, the Tencent Cloud Shanghai Summit kicked off. Tang Daosheng, Senior Executive Vice President of Tencent Group and CEO of Tencent Cloud and Smart Industries Group, stated that Tencent Cloud will continue to increase investment in overseas infrastructure. It plans to build its first data center in the Middle East in Saudi Arabia, with an investment of over USD 150 million (CNY 1,086.96 million) in the region. Additionally, Tencent Cloud intends to invest USD 500 million in Indonesia to construct its third data center.
In 2024, Tencent Cloud's ToB segment (Fintech and Enterprise Services) generated CNY 212 billion in revenue, a year-on-year increase of 4%, accounting for 32% of the total revenue. In the Middle East, Tencent Cloud collaborated with Saudi Aramco to build an AI model for the oil industry, which improved drilling efficiency by 12% and increased the accuracy of fault prediction to 85%. In Southeast Asia, Tencent Cloud provided Gojek with a real-time traffic data processing solution, reducing order dispatch latency from 3 seconds to 0.8 seconds.
Currently, Tencent Cloud's international business has maintained double-digit growth for three consecutive years. Tencent Cloud's infrastructure spans across five continents, covering 21 regions globally, operating 58 availability zones, and more than 3,200 global acceleration nodes, with 11,000 partners.
As of the end of 2024, Tencent Cloud has surpassed 10,000 overseas clients, with services covering over 80 countries and regions in Europe, America, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and more. It has provided localized digital practices in China for over 40 Fortune 500 companies.
