Apollo Go officially sets sail overseas

On March 28, Baidu announced that Apollo Go has officially entered Dubai. Apollo Go, a Chinese driveless service platform, declared that it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Dubai Road Traffic Authority (RTA) to carry out large-scale testing and services of autonomous vehicles in Dubai. The two parties plan to deploy more than 1,000 fully autonomous vehicles in Dubai. This is also the first time that Apollo Go carries out large-scale testing and services of autonomous vehicles outside China.
Subsequently, Baidu announced that Apollo Go has reached a strategic cooperation with Autogo, an autonomous driving travel company in the UAE. The two parties will give full play to their respective advantages and jointly provide autonomous driving travel services for another city in the UAE, Abu Dhabi. Baidu said that in the future, the two parties will be committed to continuously expanding the fleet size and building the largest autonomous vehicle fleet in Abu Dhabi.
Baidu Apollo is one of the leading players in the global autonomous driving field. Apollo Go has achieved large-scale operations in Chinese cities, such as Beijing, Wuhan, and Chongqing, and served more than 6 million orders . In response to the travel needs of Abu Dhabi, Apollo Go will introduce various service forms, including Robotaxi and autonomous minibuses, and support multiple calling methods such as mobile app reservation and station calling to achieve 7×24-hour all-weather services. In addition, Baidu will customize an autonomous driving solution adapted to the high-temperature and sandy environment for Abu Dhabi.
As of now, Apollo Go has provided more than 10 million travel services, with a safe driving mileage of more than 150 million kilometers. In the past two years, data shows that the actual vehicle accident rate of Apollo Go is only 1/14 of that of human drivers.
