On April 14, NVIDIA, a leading AI chip giant, announced that within the next four years, the company will produce AI infrastructure worth up to USD 500 billion (CNY 3.65 trillion) through cooperation with TSMC, Foxconn, Wistron, Amkor, and SPIL in the United States.

Currently, NVIDIA's Blackwell chips have already started production at TSMC's factory in Arizona. Meanwhile, NVIDIA will open its first factory in the US - it will build supercomputer manufacturing factories in Houston and Dallas in cooperation with Foxconn and Wistron respectively. It is expected that these two factories will achieve mass production within the next 12-15 months.

In addition, NVIDIA is cooperating with Amkor and SPIL to carry out packaging and testing businesses in Arizona.

This move aligns NVIDIA with other major US technology companies such as Apple and Qualcomm, enabling them to move manufacturing back to the United States under the threat of high tariffs from former US President Donald Trump. Earlier, Apple had announced that it would invest USD 500 billion in the United States over the next four years, produce more AI chips at TSMC, and establish an AI server factory in Texas.

TSMC had previously negotiated with NVIDIA to produce Blackwell chips at its US factory. Currently, TSMC has planned to invest an additional USD 100 billion in the United States and has promised to invest USD 65 billion to build three factories in Arizona. Eventually, TSMC will build a total of five chip manufacturing factories in the United States.
