Overseas markets have become a key growth engine for Century Huatong’s performance

Century Huatong (世纪华通) has released its 2025 half-year financial report, showing robust performance driven by strong overseas expansion. In the first half of 2025, the company recorded CNY 17.2 billion in operating revenue, up 85.5% year-on-year, with net profit attributable to shareholders reaching CNY 2.656 billion (+129.33% YoY) and adjusted net profit of CNY 2.586 billion (+124.43% YoY).

Without Survival

Operating cash flow surged 107.4% YoY to CNY 3.918 billion. This marks nine consecutive quarters of revenue growth, setting a new company record.

The report highlights that overseas business has become a critical growth driver, with H1 2025 overseas revenue reaching CNY 8.958 billion, significantly ahead of peers on China’s A-share market. Century Games (世纪游戏), a subsidiary of Century Huatong, continues to allocate significant resources to boost its blockbuster title Whiteout Survival, while newly launched games Kingshot and Tasty Travels: Merge Game have entered rapid growth phases. Despite advertising costs driving up sales expenses by 121.72% YoY, the increased investment indicates higher future revenue and profit potential.

Over the past year, Whiteout Survival has maintained its position at the top of China’s outbound mobile game revenue rankings, dominating the chart for 13 consecutive months. However, Century Huatong is no longer relying on a “single-hit strategy.” Since its February 2025 launch, Kingshot has delivered months of strong revenue growth, reaching the second place on China’s outbound mobile game revenue rankings by July 2025. Together with Whiteout Survival, Kingshot has established a “dual-growth engine” for the company and ranked top 10 on the iOS free charts in 40+ global markets.

The success of Kingshot demonstrates the effectiveness of Century Huatong’s “X + SLG” development methodology, which integrates “X” elements (e.g., tower defense, card, RPG mechanics) into SLG core gameplay. This approach achieves a balance between user acquisition and content retention, helping reduce customer acquisition costs while expanding the mass player base. The company views this methodology as replicable and expects it to help incubate more global blockbusters in the future.

Century Huatong is also accelerating its multi-genre expansion. Its match-3 titles Truck Star and Family Farm Match, along with its merge game Tasty Travels: Merge Game, are currently in market testing. Notably, Tasty Travels ranked among the fastest-growing merge games worldwide in revenue during June and July 2025. By diversifying into multiple game genres, the company is building a resilient business structure that combines steady SLG revenue generation with incremental growth from casual gaming.

From the dominance of Whiteout Survival to the rapid ascent of Kingshot, Century Huatong has upgraded its overseas strategy within just one year. The company is transitioning from a “hit-driven model” to a “methodology-driven” and “portfolio-driven” growth framework. Going forward, its success in overseas markets will increasingly depend on the speed of innovation, scalability of its development approach, and the depth of its global operations.
