Ride-hailing platform Grab said it has been selected by authorities to operate two routes in Punggol from early 2026, using 5- and 8-seater models developed by WeRide (文远知行). Vehicles will first run tests to ensure safety.

Pony.ai (小马智行) announced a tie-up with ComfortDelGro to run a 12-km route in Punggol, with commercial service expected within months of regulatory approval, according to Singapore’s Land Transport Authority .

Both firms already operate autonomous fleets overseas. WeRide secured approval in Shanghai this July, while Pony.ai runs services in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and is expanding abroad with Toyota backing. Pony.ai raised USD 260 million in its Nasdaq listing this November, aiming for a fleet of 1,000 vehicles by year-end.
