During the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, China’s new energy vehicle industry moved to the centre of the global stage. BYD grew into the world’s largest new energy vehicle manufacturer, achieving a tenfold increase in annual sales.

Entering the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, China’s new energy vehicle sector will move into a new phase characterised by technological iteration, integration of intelligence and electrification, and global development. At this new starting point, BYD will continue to maintain substantial investment in research and development and capital expenditure, consolidating its strengths in electrification and advancing intelligent technologies to create new growth curves. In terms of industrial collaboration, the company will leverage the global industrial chain to integrate resources and pursue collaborative innovation. On global expansion, BYD will seize opportunities for Chinese brands to expand overseas, accelerate its global industrial footprint, and build a world-class Chinese brand.

Looking ahead, Wang said BYD will remain mindful of its responsibilities as a listed company, continue to develop new productive forces, and contribute more to China’s ambition of becoming a leading automotive power. He concluded by wishing everyone success and happiness in the year ahead.
