On January 5, according to Bahraini media reports, Keeta, the food delivery platform of Meituan (美团), officially launched its delivery services in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The launch ceremony, held in Manama, was attended by senior officials, business leaders and representatives from the restaurant industry, highlighting the role of public–private cooperation in driving economic growth and the adoption of advanced digital solutions.
Backed by Meituan (美团), a global technology company focused on digital services, Keeta’s entry into the Bahraini market forms part of its regional expansion strategy following successful launches in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Qatar.
The move reflects Keeta’s confidence in Bahrain’s favourable investment environment, advanced digital infrastructure and supportive regulatory framework.
Keeta aims to deliver fast and reliable services, enhance customer experience, and improve operational efficiency through long-term partnerships with local restaurants to support sustainable growth. Its advanced technology systems analyse factors such as traffic conditions, distance and order details to improve delivery accuracy, ensure service quality, and establish transparent compensation mechanisms in cases of delayed deliveries.
To mark the launch, Keeta introduced promotional offers, including discounts at selected partner restaurants and free delivery, with no subscription or additional fees required.
The company has also invested in building a local operations system, including a delivery rider network, service standards, and a dedicated support team equipped with a 24/7 customer service centre. Restaurant partners benefit from an integrated support model covering onboarding, daily operations and performance enhancement through data-driven insights.
At launch, Keeta brought together a wide range of popular local restaurants as well as regional and international brands, reflecting the diversity of Bahrain’s food and beverage sector and reinforcing the company’s commitment to supporting the local restaurant industry and national economic growth.
