Will AI cooking robots rewrite the second half of the restaurant industry?

On April 1, Xianglu Robotics (橡鹿机器人) announced the completion of a 300 million yuan financing round, led by the Industrial Upgrade Fund managed by E-Town Capital (亦庄国投), with participation from Ambrum (琥珀), Andon (九安), and HT Capital(海棠). This marks another major endorsement for OakBot following support from Source Code Capital, IDG, Tencent, and JD.com, with its cumulative financing scale in the industry far ahead of the rest.
This round of financing is a high recognition by state-owned capital of the industrial application of robotics technology, and also a strong endorsement of new quality productive forces driving the upgrading of traditional industries. AI cooking robots are moving from the technical verification stage to a new stage of large-scale implementation.
It is reported that this round of financing will focus on building globally leading AI cooking robot technology, and constructing core barriers such as intelligent perception and AI algorithms.
Xianglu Robot (橡鹿机器人) was established in 2021 and is a hard tech company focused on improving the quality of catering supply. It has built a complete technology chain from "real kitchen data" to "AI recipe generation" and then to "robotic stir-frying".
The company's self-developed AI recipe generation system has accumulated nearly one million digital recipes for Chinese cuisine. It is the world's largest digital recipe library for Chinese cooking robots, covering real stir-frying data for the Eight Great Cuisines, local specialty dishes, and some high-difficulty intangible cultural heritage dishes, laying a solid digital foundation for the digital inheritance and global expansion of Chinese cuisine.
In terms of commercialization, Xianglu (橡鹿) has achieved deep penetration in three major scenarios: fast food, full-service dining, and group dining:
Fast Food Scenario:Xianglu (橡鹿) has already covered the vast majority of China's top catering brands, such as Chaoyixing (超意兴), Jiahe Yipin (嘉和一品), and Leifan (擂饭). Among them, Hunan's top chain brand Leifan (擂饭) uses AI cooking robots as its core model and achieved an expansion of 500 stores within half a year. This not only realized a reduction in costs but also guaranteed the consistency of food quality across all stores. The robots have solved the common problem of chain brands being "chained but not locked," truly achieving both "connection" and "locking."
Main meal scenario:AI cooking robots have entered the listed company Xiaocaiyuan (小菜园) and the benchmark for light casual dining, Seven Fresh Kitchen (七鲜小厨). Xiaocaiyuan (小菜园) is currently using Xianglu AI cooking robots to replicate Huizhou master dishes on a 1:1 scale. They leverage the robot's back-of-house management system to empower precise assessment of store procurement, while simultaneously reducing labor and training costs, thereby building a superior restaurant store model.
Group dining scenario:Xianglu (橡鹿) has partnered with industry-renowned group catering companies such as Jianliyuan (健力源) and Manzuor (满座儿) to introduce robots into the cafeterias of China's top internet companies and large enterprises. Catering to the diverse needs of employees, they provide various types of cuisine including Southeast Asian dishes, local specialties, and Western food, having already served tens of thousands of employees.

At the service system level, Xianglu (橡鹿) pioneered the industry's four major service systems, deploying 90 regional instant-delivery warehouses nationwide, building a team of nearly 100 AI chef coaches, after-sales engineers, and customer trainers, and simultaneously constructing two intelligent production bases in South China and East China to provide customers with full lifecycle services.
In terms of global layout, Xianglu (橡鹿) has already deployed equipment in dozens of countries including the United States, Australia, France, Singapore, Japan, and South Korea, and the Chinese food digital recipe library is providing stable production capabilities for overseas restaurants.
